For babies below age of one need safety precautions while riding in car. Most city couples during their weekdays prefer traveling to their countryside home. Infant car seat covers are an ideal gear to carry for couples riding with newborn child.

There are several benefits of choosing baby car seat covers. They hold your baby to rear seat. In fact, babies are too small to fit in car safety belts. However, using covers they easily hinge to the seats.

Following are some effective tips that you may watch for while choosing infant car seat covers:
Pleasing To Eyes: While deciding a baby seat cover, you may check for whether it is attractive and pleasing to eyes. Most babies resist wearing straps owing to restriction they impart to their motion. However, colorful covers that look pleasing to their eyes might distract their discomfort. Avoid choosing covers by comparing with the interiors of your car. Parents may rather check on whether it is pleasing to the child at first place. In addition, most people popularly buy plain colors such as white or pink.
Comfortable design: Infant car seat covers that are easy to fit and strap are best buys. Baby seat covers that fit your child sell well over shabby and clumsy ones. Never experiment while buying baby car seat covers, as it may invite unnecessary troubles. Choose conventional designs that are easy to implement and easy to care. Most baby sear covers that sell in market are tested for safety standards. The prime objective of a baby sear cover is to impart adequate safety to child in case of road mishap. Apart from imparting cushion and safety, a cover must also ensure comfortable design.
Wash proof or replaceable: Look for washability of baby seat covers. Your baby may surprise you by passing urination. Despite of wearing diapers, babies may pass urine on covers. It is ideal to buy a wash proof cover, so you can reuse it without replacing. However, covers that allow replacements may eventually prove costlier to those allowing ease of washability and reusability.
Durability: Covers that stay unaffected during endurance show good durability. Most high quality covers show good durability. These materials last long. Moreover, they never show up problems such as rupture. Straps fitted to baby seats should lay intact in case of accidents. Failure of straps would lead to failure of covers. Hence, it is ideal to buy them from good stores. Most products involving covers undergo enough testing to check their durability. Hence, do not worry on differences in prices. Both cheap as well as high quality materials may come in different price ranges. In case, you are on a tight smaller budget, then you may decide to go for simple designs. However, never sacrifice on safety features such as durability of the cover.
Cushioning: Traveling and jerks are inseparable facets of same coin. Being older, we can endure big jerk, but babies can react to smallest of jerks. Disregard of you being alert while steering over a pothole, your baby may give up to the jerk. However, by having infant car seat covers, you provide adequate cushioning to your baby. Cushions absorb shocks. It contains the impact by holding it tight to the baby.

If you have landed on this page you are most likely worried about your infant developing SIDS. Here you will find out some things that can increase the risk of SIDS, and how to prevent SIDS.

According to the statistics, around 300 infants die every year in the UK from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), also known as cot death. Babies who were premature, had a low birth weight, or are between the ages of 1 and 4 months old are more at risk of SIDS. Boys are more at risk than girls.

Infants who die from SIDS appear to die painlessly in their sleep. SIDS can occur during any time that a baby sleeps, but according to statistics it usually occurs between midnight and 9am while baby is sleeping in their cot/crib.

There are things that can put a baby more at risk of SIDS. Those include allergies, bacterial and viral infections, an irregular heartbeat, accidental suffocation, unknown genetic conditions, and problems with the part of the brain that causes breathing, and overheating.

There are a few things you can do that can reduce the risk of SIDS. Those include:
Keeping your baby cool if they have a high temperatureKeep your baby away from cigarette smoke (during pregnancy and after they are born)Don't let baby sleep with a pillowIdeally baby should sleep with their feet at the foot of the cot to prevent baby wriggling underneath the coversThere should be no items in the cot (such as cuddly toys) as those could suffocate baby if they were to fall on baby's headThe temperature of baby's room should be 18°C (temperatures between 16°C and 20°C is considered acceptable)Baby's should always sleep on their backIf baby is unwell you should get medical attention straight awayIt is recommended to have your baby sleep in their cot in your bedroom for the first 6 months, before moving baby to their own room.

A baby sensor monitor would help to provide you with peace of mind while your little one sleeps as they monitor your baby's breathing/movements. If baby were to stop breathing an alarm would sound (usually after 20 seconds of no movement detected). A baby sensor monitor cannot directly prevent your baby from SIDS, but it could potentially help to save your baby if they were to stop breathing as the alarm will sound to alert you, and you can then take the appropriate procedures to help your little one.

BabyMonitorsOnline are an online baby monitor store who sell a wide range of baby monitors including baby sensor monitors.

The new and improved Summer Infant Best View Handheld Monitor is an update of the previously popular analog model. Not only does it looks sleeker and smarter, but offers up-to-date digital technology providing a more secure and interference free transmission.

The Summer Infant Best view has some really great features that parents really appreciate. First and mostly importantly it has a 2.5" LCD color screen on which to view your baby in color during the day and then as it gets dark it automatically gives you black and white nighttime vision.

Having good night vision is important for most parents as they can keep an eye on their little one during the night. Quite a few customers mentioned that they felt the nighttime vision wasn't as clear and crisp as the previous model, saying that the image was grainy and fuzzy. However, other customers were very pleased with the quality.

Unfortunately digital transmissions can suffer from interference especially if close to other wireless devices that run on the same frequency such as cordless phones, WiFi computers, microwave ovens etc. Often, moving them away from these devices will improve the reception.

Given that the screen is only 2.5", some customers commented that if you are expecting HD quality on such a small screen then you will be disappointed.

As mentioned, many customers were very pleased with the night vision as they were with the pan, tilt and zoom camera capabilities that are remotely activated by the monitor. This allows you to get the best view of your baby at all times. Hence the name of this video baby monitor.

The Summer Infant Best view is designed to be handheld and fits nicely into your hand so you can carry it around. It's also the just the right size to fit into your pocket. There's also a built-in kick stand so you can place it on a level surface when you are perhaps working in the kitchen or watching TV and has a belt clip so you can attach it to your belt or waistband, allowing you to be hands-free if out in the garden.

Along with features such as automatic nighttime vision, LED sound lights, quick view, volume control and rechargeable batteries, the monitor can expand with your family, supporting up to four cameras. However, it doesn't have two-way talk back that features on many other video baby monitors, but you can clearly see and hear your baby which is the most important thing.

Most customers were more than satisfied with the quality of the picture and audio. There were, however, some complaints that the nighttime vision wasn't as clear as the previous analog model. Overall, though, the Summer Infant Best View Handheld Color Video Monitor was felt to be a great baby monitor and good value for money.

Then there's the two-way talk back feature which means that you can talk to your baby through the monitor and they will hear your voice through the camera. You can have a two-way conversation without even having to go into your baby's room.

Another great feature is the ability to, at a touch, remotely control the pan, scan and zoom functions. You can pan and scan to the left and right, up and down as well as zoom in and out, offering you a variety of viewing options.

Consumers rave about how easy it is to set up and use and are more than satisfied with the quality of the picture and sound. However, a few reviewers did state that they were a little disappointed with the quality of the video given the cost of the monitor. In some cases this may not be the fault of the monitor, but with the reception.

Even though signal range is up to 400 feet, this is with a clear line of sight. If there are walls, large furniture, or trees if you are in the garden, this may interfere with the signal. Digital signals are not totally immune from interference and if your monitor is too close to the camera or other wireless devices such as cordless phones, WiFi networks then this can create a problem.

The Summer Infant Baby Touch Color Video monitor is extremely portable. There's a built in foot rest for table top convenience and a belt clip so you can attach it to your belt or waistband to be totally hands-free. This makes this model a very versatile option.

Talking about versatility, you also have the ability to add up to three additional cameras (four in all) for use in multiple rooms, a must for growing families.

This model isn't all singing and dancing as it doesn't have features such as lullabies, nightlight or temperature sensor like many other less expensive digital models. However, what Summer Infant has focused on is the versatile viewing options and ease of use. It looks good too!

Because of its innovative digital touch screen technology, the cost of this Summer Infant video baby monitor is higher than other digital video baby monitors on the market. What's very apparent is that the people who bought this model felt it to be good value for money.

The Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Video Monitor has a small 1.8" TFT color screen which offers crystal clear picture quality. This model is designed to be handheld, the shape of it fitting nicely into your hand. The unit is both compact and lightweight so you carry it around in your hand, or use the built-in foot rest to place it on a level surface. It also has an adjustable belt clip so you can attach it to your belt or waistband to be totally hands free.

The Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld monitor runs on 900MHz wireless technology which is said to avoid interference from other wireless devices such as cordless phones, microwaves and WiFi which tend to use 2.4Gz. However, some people did experience some static interference as well as being able to pick up neighbor's babies.

Unfortunately, 900MHz transmissions are open to interference, especially if you have devices that run on similar frequencies, or live in a highly populated area where other people may have video baby monitors. This is something to be aware of when looking for a monitor. If you want one that's truly secure then you need to look for a model that offers hop technology which is much more secure.

On the bright side, the monitor has a range of up to 350 feet with a clear line of sight and 100ft if obstructed by walls, large furniture etc. It also has night vision capability.

Night vision is an important consideration when choosing a video baby monitor, and this Summer Infant model has 9 in-built infrared LED's that allow the camera to view clear black and white images as the light gets low to dark within a distance of up to 6ft. This is great for parents to keep a check on their little one at night without having to go into their room or even get out of bed.

Other features include the option to add two additional cameras for multiple use. As your family or needs grow so can the monitor.

This Summer Infant video baby monitor offers good value for money if you're looking for something quite basic. It doesn't have as many features as other models such as two-way communication, but it does offer good picture quality which is important to parents. It's also very easy to use and fully portable, another great asset. The only negative is that people have experienced static interference and issues surrounding security.
