Strollers And Prams

I've had a lot of equipment in the past 7 some years that I have purchased for my children. I've also had 3 children in the last 7 years so it stands to reason that this would be so. It's also important to point out that I have kept all of it the entire time and kept it in good shape. I've done so through applying some care and maintenance to my strollers and prams.

You Can Sell It When You Are Done With It!

Most people view their baby gear such as strollers and prams and toddler equipment as something that should be used while the kids are young and discarded when they grow out of it. If you are the type of person that buys a lot of stuff at the big retailers and it's mostly made of out plastic from a foreign country then this will be so. But I think there is a better way to think about.

Invest In Quality

If you buy your strollers and prams from a reputable company and pay for more it, then you are going to get better value. You are also going to get a better product. But this means, that instead of trashing it when you are done or giving it away to the Sally-Ann's you can actually sell it to someone that can use it again. Or if you choose to give it to a charity or second hand store, then you will be giving them something they can derive some value from, rather than just trash it when you are gone. Believe me it happens alot.

Just Take Care Of It

Buying good stuff is step number one. You won't be sorry you invested a little more, because you will also get a better experience. But to maximize the longevity of your strollers or prams or what have you, you should also take good care of them. There are simply things you can do.

Treat The Fabric

You can buy very inexpensive fabric treatments that will help the fabric resist UV damage, but that also keeps the dirt, food and drinks from sticking to it. Most everything child related is covered in fabric and this is what you should keep clean. If you clean out your stroller and just vacuum it once every few months it will look shiny and new. We have had our bugaboo frog for years and with a little care, it will basically look like new when I sell it. There is no reason you can't do this as well.
